<< Back to Portfolio

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

  • Carbone custom engineered, fabricated, and installed a mounting system and panel that encapsulates the passenger escalator, as well as an architectural radiused element at the intermittent platform.
  • Bright green powder coating was applied to the steel panels to match a Sherwin-Williams paint specification.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Black Falcon Terminal has been used as Boston’s cruise ship passenger terminal for over 25 years, with 200,000 passengers passing through the terminal each year. The terminal underwent a major design overhaul to create new passenger departure facilities on the previously unoccupied third level. New elevators, escalators, and moving ramps were added to streamline ticketing and boarding operations. The design also includes new energy efficient systems, historic elements, and refurbished exterior and interior finishes and signage.
